Carl Howarth’s interest in computers started at the early age of 9 when he received a basic home computer for Christmas (instead of the games console that he had hoped for!). Back then computers where not really design for games, taking ages to load games from tapes, and as a result Carl started to fiddle with the computer’s basic programming language. As his childhood progressed, a keen enthusiasm for computers and I.T. emerged and with a true belief that they where the future, had decided right there and then what he wanted to do when he left education.

In 1997 Carl started a position in a document archiving company in Peterborough. Initially responsible for writing in-house software he found he was able to produce tools for particular jobs extremely fast and excelled at programming. After 6 months, a colleague left the company and Carl found himself looking after the hardware side as well. With a born instinct to tinker with all things electrical, he found a new passion in I.T. and took on the responsibility for the entire department, eventually maintaining over 100 high end desktop computers, 40 specialist scanners, a server and the network as well as still producing software. In 2001 the time had come to move on and after spending 6 months training his replacements he left the company to start a new project.

Entering a new company as their senior developer on a new software project, Carl was focused on software development and could see the path ahead. The project was to design a complete stock management and order processing system for the Office Supplies industry. As well as the software project, Carl also found himself looking after the entire I.T. department again and was soon given the title of Technical Manager. In 2006 cutbacks had to be made and in 2007 circumstances brought an end to the project. During the last 3 years, Carl started looking into Web technologies and when the project came to an end, he decided that the time had come to start out on his own.

With over 10 years of commercial experience in all areas of I.T. Carl felt that he was in the perfect position to start his own company. His ambition was to be able to help small businesses that could not warrant or afford to employ their own I.T. staff and with his new excitement for web development, would offer website design as well.
